The best way to partner with us in our work is to join a committee. Our committees meet in small groups to strategize and do the nuts and bolts of our work. Each of our committees are listed below.

Families as Leaders Committee
Goals:
·        Connect parents/caregivers to information and resources in Rock Island County that empowers them to be leaders in their families, the early childhood system, and their communities.
·        Offer parents opportunities to increase their skills as parent leaders and market these opportunities.
·        Increase parent knowledge of and participation in the early childhood system.
·        Make parents aware of programs offering quality care.
·        Improve parent’s relationships with providers and their children.

Healthy Kids Committee
Goals:

·       
Ensure the community has a coordinated and collaborative system of Early Childhood Services.
·       
Increase parent access to services that ensure their children will maintain physical and emotional health.
·       
Help parents to understand the value and process of screenings.
·       
Work with early childhood system to increase access to community screenings (developmental, physical, and mental health).
·       
Determine barriers to physical and emotional health services within the early childhood system.
·       
Increase parent awareness of developmental milestones.

Opening Doors Committee
Goals:

·       
Work to improve communication between early childhood professionals.
·       
Ensure the community has a coordinated and collaborative system of early childhood services.
·       
Increase network awareness of community services (including, but not limited to-available programs, referral process, eligibility requirements).
·       
Plan networking opportunities for early childhood professionals (including, but not limited to-Early Childhood Connections lunches, networking events.).
·       
Market Rock Island County All Our Kids Early Childhood Network to the community.

Professional Development Committee
Goals:

·       
Identify early childhood training needs in Rock Island County.
·       
Plan for and coordinate trainings ensuring early childhood services are family-focused, culturally competent, and strength-based.
·       
Increase awareness of early childhood training and continuing education opportunities.
·       
Increase number of early childhood providers with accreditation/credentials.

Funding Committee
Goals:

·       
Increase access to quality services, personnel, and facilities by increasing funding through local and state advocacy and education which will enable families to choose from a full range of early childhood services.
·       
Catalog the various sources of potential funds to further increase the cause of the work of the ECC.
·       
Apply for resources to fund identified needs of the ECC.
·       
Maintain current early childhood funding needs list.
·       
Maintain template of ECC history, mission, accomplishments, grant awards, outcomes, and data.

Advocacy Committee
Goals:

·       
Inform membership of present and potential legislative issues.
·       
Encourage and coordinate individual and group action.
·       
Maintain a diverse and knowledgeable membership base who contributes from various sectors of interest.
·       
Stimulate discussion and determine where group action is appropriate and how best to implement.
·       
Consider various means by which individuals can remain abreast of activities and take action if group action is inappropriate or not endorsed.
